Ben Ramsdale, Vice-President of Commercial and Legal at communications specialists Connect, has joined the board of social enterprise Connectforce Community CIC as a Non-Executive director. Ben’s appointment comes at a pivotal moment for Connectforce, whose purpose is to build connection, creativity & confidence within marginalised communities through collaboration with a network of artists.
Since being founded in May 2020 as a direct response to the isolation care home residents were experiencing during the COVID-19 pandemic, Connectforce has made a tangible impact to the lives of marginalised groups. Evaluations have proven the positive impact that creativity – and in particular the creative programmes that Connectforce delivers – can have in tackling isolation and exclusion.
Connectforce is now seeking to expand its work to support more communities and Ben has been working with the team for a number of months on an advisory basis. His appointment as a non-executive director cements his relationship with Connectforce and ensures the social enterprise can benefit from his commercial skills and experience as it grows.
Connectforce co-founder Victoria Basten commented:
“All of us at Connectforce would like to thank Ben for the input and enthusiasm he has already shown for our mission. We’re delighted that he is now joining us on a more formal basis and are excited about how his input will help us progress. We look forward to working together to build the bridges of connection in the community.”
Ben Ramsdale said:
“I have been working with Connectforce for a number of months now and have been endlessly impressed by the efforts and quality of the team. It is my strong belief that, as professionals, we must give back to society as a whole and so it is my absolute privilege to join a team as talented as this one, whose singular aim is to serve marginalised communities. It is an exciting time for Connectforce as they develop and release new programmes. I’m looking forward to applying my experience to help them become a self-sufficient social enterprise.”
Connectforce Community CIC is a social enterprise which provides creative programmes to support those experiencing social exclusion.
“We believe creativity is a key contributor to a happy, healthy society.”
